Black wide-brim hat pendant light – Vela

A wide, flattened hat made of black wire floats above the table. The wires radiate from the centre in fine spokes and spread out towards the edge. This black wide-brim pendant light resembles a delicate spider web. A small cage holds the light bulb in the centre. Each spoke is a very thin metal wire, stretched from the central cage to the edge.

The wires are very fine and allow light to pass through them. The pattern is projected onto the ceiling and walls in regular lines. The black of the metal contrasts with a light-coloured ceiling. The shape is flat and ample. Its large diameter gives the light fitting an immense presence without adding weight.

Above a large table, it covers almost the entire surface. The gaze passes through it without obstruction. In the evening, rays of shadow are cast upon the ceiling.

Large diameter wide-brim pendant light, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 180 or 200 cm

Seven diameters are available: 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 180 and 200 cm. A diameter of 60 cm is suitable for a dining nook or an entryway. From 100 to 120 cm, it is suitable for a table for six people. From 140 to 200 cm, it is suitable for a large living room or a double-height ceiling. A 60 cm diameter may appear small above a large table: one should account for approximately half the width of the tabletop.

The finish shown is black. A warm light bulb provides soft lighting through the wires.

Installation is described as easy, with a mounting plate and screws provided for ceiling attachment. The larger the diameter, the lighter the fitting appears to the eye: the wires allow the ceiling to remain visible. Larger diameters require a high ceiling, as the fitting occupies a significant amount of volume.

Metal wire pendant light for large tables, living rooms and double-height ceilings

A large-diameter wide-brim light occupies the space of a chandelier without closing off the room. It lets you see what is behind it. It is suitable for high ceilings. Placed above an oval table, it follows the shape of the tabletop.

This black wide-brim pendant light pairs well with wooden tables, fabric chairs, and light-coloured walls. It provides contrast in a room crowded with furniture. In a hall, it fills an empty volume without obstructing it.

The thin metal is easily bent: unpack the light fitting carefully and lift it by the centre. The ray pattern is projected onto the ceiling and takes on the shape of a fan.
