At its end, a small cylinder made of wood and stone. The Sylva travertine cable wall light hangs like a pendant light, but it is mounted on the wall. The cord is thin and black. It drops from the wall in a straight line. The cylinder is wider at the bottom than at the top, with a wooden cap.

The cord is thin. The cylinder is heavy and light-coloured. Light exits from underneath in a short cone. The wooden and stone cylinder is visually heavy. Its base is made of light-coloured travertine. The black cord stands out against a light wall and blends into a dark wall.

Above a bedside table, a console, or in a reading corner, it frees up the surface below. It replaces a table lamp. It creates a small circle on the furniture. In a reading corner, the lamp is at the right height without occupying any table space.

Travertine and wood pendant wall light, minimalist Scandinavian style

The product page offers a single version, in natural travertine stone and wood. The length of the cord determines the lamp's height. Measure the distance between the wall plate and the furniture before choosing. The cord dictates the lamp's length, so you must choose a mounting point that allows enough room for it to hang.

Travertine is natural: holes and shades vary from one piece to another. Wood and stone are natural materials, they differ from one piece to another. The wood and stone have some weight: fix the wall plate to a solid wall and not a thin partition.

The choice is limited to the installation height. A cord that is too long will cause the lamp to sway: it is adjusted during installation so that it remains stable. The length of the cord fixes the distance between the wall plate and the lamp: measure the space between the wall plate and the furniture before drilling, so that the cylinder hangs at the right height.

At the foot of the bed or on a console, a table lamp extends the same low light. The upper part of the wall remains dark. Avoid locations near a draft, which would cause the lamp to sway. The contrast between the thin cord and the massive base draws the eye downward, where the light falls.

A travertine cable wall light like Sylva is suitable for narrow bedside tables and reading corners.
