This slightly domed disc resembles a flat hat. This travertine lamp with a black shade relies on a sharp contrast. The black disc is wider than the column, giving the lamp a mushroom-like silhouette.

Under the disc, a small halo of light illuminates the top of the column. The stone remains matte, warm, and sand-coloured. The black, meanwhile, reflects nothing. One can guess the light source under the disc, like a hidden little sun. The disc is thin, almost flat, with its edges slightly raised.

On a living room piece of furniture, a sideboard, or a console table, it casts a circle of light onto the surface. The nearby walls remain in shadow. The stone column is round and rimless, with small hollows distributed along its entire height.

Natural travertine table lamp, black disc-shaped shade, sculptural piece

The product sheet indicates a single version in natural travertine with a minimalist spirit. A piece of furniture with a light-coloured surface highlights the contrast between the black and the stone.

Travertine is a natural stone: its hollows and veins vary from one piece to another. The column is heavy, which stabilises the lamp on a surface. The disc is wide; it requires a surface of at least forty centimetres so it does not overhang the furniture. Compare the diameter of the disc with that of a nearby painting or vase to maintain balance.

The lamp is freestanding, with no mounting required. It should be placed on a sturdy piece of furniture, out of reach of accidental bumps. A warm bulb of moderate power is recommended, as it illuminates the column without causing glare. Since the disc is opaque, the light only passes from underneath: ensure that no objects obstruct this area.

To compare with other low light sources, browse our table lamps. A wall light can extend the same light to the neighboring wall, using similar materials and shades.

Stone lamp for living room, bedroom, and entryway

The black disc focuses the light downward and prevents glare. Sitting near the lamp, you mainly see the illuminated surface. In a living room, it complements a sofa, a bookcase, or a sideboard.

This travertine lamp with a black shade pairs well with dark wood, leather, and marble. The contrast is more visible on light-coloured furniture. On an entryway console, it illuminates keys and mail.

It gives an architectural presence to a piece of furniture without cluttering the room. The matte black of the disc prevents reflections and keeps the light focused. In a bedroom, it replaces a classic bedside lamp with a fabric shade.

Specifications

Type: decorative table lamp, sculptural piece.

Material: natural travertine.

Style: minimalist, architectural presence.

Usage: interior, living room, bedroom, entryway.

Installation: none, freestanding lamp.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0752/5430/0868/files/image_001-5678fe5b-8ab1-4b86-9989-5b3a1e5042de.webp?v=1791179534
